Weekend cake
A cake to bribe the judges. My mom said no one ate it because it looked like Fondant... it wasn't fondant! LAME! She's getting a little ridiculous with her cake making that's for sure. I definitely think it's cool but I only make cakes when I have to (could be I don't have the best kitchen or tools) and I'm pretty sure she makes at least one each week. She's really talented. I think I could do the same, I just don't have the time, money, or reasons to be making cakes all the time.
Rockin out!
The skit this year was so hilarious. They had everything perfectly choreographed and it was great to watch them move around and sing. I couldn't stop laughing! Even the lyrics were catchy. What a great start to the weekend. It totally got everyone pumped and excited to be there and it almost made me wish I was a leader again. But I'm pretty sure running the night game was enough for me!

Heading to kick off for the weekend
It's 80's themed so I rocked pink spandex, shorts, a purple shirt that hung off my shoulder, black pumps, a side pony, and pink pearls. So fun!
Tulips!
Now That's a pretty flower. This is what I've been waiting to bloom in my planter box on my porch! I can't believe it, I may actually have a green thumb! Lets see how long they last!
Stinky
I love spring. Flowers blooming everywhere. There trees are particularly pretty. Too bad they smell like squid

The way God moves...
Is amazing! He always has a plan and works everything out for the good. It is so wonderful to see how His hand has divinely moved things into place to show us what He has for us.
Lets start with this, we absolutely know that God was calling us to Montreal. He opened the doors necessary to get the process moving and we felt called to walk toward those doors. When this all began we had two options on the table, Montreal or Montana, and the doors for Montana seemed shut. Once we realized that God was calling us to Montreal, we moved forward with the preparation. We got so far as to make and stuff all our support packets. However, after a series of events, we are confident that the doors are now closed.
And still, I know God had us move forward toward Montreal for a purpose. In the last 5 months Johnny and I have grown so much. We have both been humbled, I have learned what it means to be a submissive wife (a decision I must make everyday), and we have also learned what's important to us and what our style is in ministry. I also feel that our pursuit of Montreal brought certain weaknesses to light on every one's behalf- Ours, Global Adventures, Calvary, and Regeneration- that we can now all work to improve. Without the problems we have faced, we all would not have had the opportunity for growth and change like we now have. One of the analogies we have been using is that we, like Abraham with his son, were asked to go and follow God, to trust, have faith, and make the sacrifices necessary to serve Him; because we were willing and faithful, it is as though we performed and God is not longer asking us to go. We are at peace with where God has brought us and excited to see what is next.
We are revisiting our other option from 6 months ago along with a few others. We are excited to see where we end up and what God has for us there. Pray for His leading and that He would be laying us on the hearts of the people we may join.

Mexico?
We had an adventure today. The aquarium was our destination and we got lost. In our process of trying to find it i'm pretty sure we drove through Mexico (the furthest part of the south valley I've ever been) and ended up at central and coors. This isn't the best picture to capture what we saw but we thought about it right as we were driving out and back into newly developed areas. It's like we left the city and entered back in again.

Spring cake
Basket weave class. Plus a new cake recipe. Yum! Rosettes on top. The Student Ministry guys apparently ate it really fast... I'm trying to find places to give these away so let me know if you'd like to try my next one!

So tired
I don't know why, but for some reason this time change is really messing with me! I haven't been able to sleep very well the last few nights anyway but adding on waking up earlier than my body is used to doesn't help. What's really weird to me is that I spend the entire day tired, yawning continuously, eyes watering, wanting nothing more than to go home and take a nap and yet, by the time it hits 7 pm, I all of a sudden have this burst of energy and we stay up until midnight. That could also contribute to the tiredness. I also have a lot of thoughts and unknowns in my life right now; I'm a thinker and analyze everything so this can easily keep me up or find it's way into my dreams. The vivid, realistic dreams have been waking me a lot too.
Thankfully, spring break is this next week and I'm taking tomorrow off of school to 1. go to rick's funeral and 2. spend some time with my husband. Hopefully I can get really well rested and accomplish a lot before I go back to school on the 25th. This month is going to be over before I know it. I did realize that the last time I went to a funeral was when I was 13 or so, if not younger and I didn't know the person at all. Honestly, I've never been good at this kind of thing. Rick was such a great guy and I'll miss seeing him, but I know he's with the Lord. So here, now, I don't know how to respond. I've never really had anyone really close to me die so I don't really know how to respond. It's kinda shocking more than anything, and I've never been a crier, and I'm always afraid my emotions won't match the situation. We'll see what happens I guess.
